Official Rules for the Solid Gold Sweepstakes

 
  1. ELIGIBILITY. To be eligible to enter the Solid Gold Sweepstakes (hereinafter, “Sweepstakes”), at the time of entry you must be (i) a registered user of veer.com, (ii) a legal resident of the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec), and (iii) above the age of majority in your state or province/territory of residence. No other person is eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. Employees and representatives of Veer, Corbis Corporation, their respective parents, affiliates, related companies, agents, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, any gift provider, and any entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the Sweepstakes, and their immediate family members (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse, or life partner) regardless of where they reside, and persons living in the same household (whether or not related), are not eligible to participate or win. Veer has the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

    Corporate Customers – If you are entering the Sweepstakes on behalf of your employer, these Official Rules are binding on you, individually, and your company. If you are acting within the scope of your employment, as an employee, contractor, or agent of another party, you warrant that such party has full knowledge of your actions and has consented thereto. You further warrant that your actions do not violate your employer’s or company’s policies and procedures.
  2. TERM. The Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 a.m. (ET) on March 3, 2008, and ends at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on April 30, 2008 (“Term”).
  3. SPONSOR. Veer, located at Suite 400, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6, Canada, is the sponsor of this Sweepstakes (“Sponsor” or “Veer”).
  4. TO ENTER. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. To enter, visit www.veer.com (the “Site”) and sign-in through the Site by entering your e-mail address and password as prompted. After signing in, you may participate by clicking on the link to the Sweepstakes page located at www.veer.com/solidgoldcontest. Then, you may enter by creating a lightbox of image(s) based on the theme that is advertised on the Sweepstakes site. For example, if the theme is “COLOR” you may select images that you believe demonstrate color. You may select only one image to participate, but there is no limit to the number of images you can put in your lightbox. After you select your image(s) and add it/them to your lightbox, you may submit your entry to Sponsor directly from your lightbox via e-mail to solidgold@veer.com by following the instructions given on the Sweepstakes page.

    LIMIT: ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON. Subsequent entries will be disqualified. All entries become the property of Sponsor. They will not be returned or acknowledged. Proof of entry does not constitute proof of receipt. Sponsor is not responsible for (i) lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, mechanically reproduced, fraudulent, incomplete, or illegible e-mails or entries which are void, or (ii) for any computer-related, online, telephonic, or technical malfunctions that may occur.
  5. PERSONAL DATA. By participating in the Sweepstakes, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the conditions of Sponsor’s privacy policy, located at www.veer.com/about/privacy, which governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for the purposes of this Sweepstakes. Furthermore, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information by Sponsor and its authorized agents for the purposes of administering this Sweepstakes and prize fulfillment.
  6. PRIZE. One (1) eligible entrant will be selected by random drawing to be eligible receive a package of four posters. To be declared a winner, the entrant must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered at a mutually convenient time by telephone. Approximate Retail Value of the prize: US$100. Veer, in its sole discretion, will choose the posters that will be included in the prize package. Poster will be delivered 4-6 weeks from the Sponsor’s receipt of the winner’s acceptance of the prize notification.

  7. WINNER NOTIFICATION. Random selection of the potential winner will occur on or about May 7, 2008, from among all eligible entries received. Prize drawing will be conducted at Veer’s offices. The potential winner will be notified by e-mail or regular mail, in Sponsor’s discretion, on or about May 9, 2008. The potential winner will have seven (7) days from notification to claim his or her prize. Sponsor and its affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, agents, officers and directors, advertising and Sweepstakes agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and their respective agents will not be liable for unsuccessful efforts to notify a winner. The prizes will be delivered by ground shipping. No prize transfer, assignment, or substitution by winner permitted. If the potential winner declines the prize, fails to claim the prize, fails to answer the skill-testing question correctly, cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of the draw, fails to abide by the Official Rules, is ineligible, or if the prize or any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited, and Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner from all remaining eligible entries.

    Where lawful, the potential winner may be required to sign an Affidavit or Declaration of Eligibility, Release of Liability, and/or a Publicity Release. Failure to return the required documents within the time period specified thereon may result in forfeiture of prize and random selection of alternate potential winner from remaining eligible entries. Except where prohibited by law, by accepting the prize, winner consents to Sponsor’s use of his/her likeness, photograph, name, or voice for advertising and publicity purposes in any and all media worldwide (including winners list) without additional compensation or notification. The name of the prize winners may be posted on the Sponsor’s web site(s).
  8. CONDUCT. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to comply with and be bound by these Official Rules. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes. Entrants further agree to comply with and be bound by decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be: (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the operation of the Sweepstakes or Sponsor’s web site(s); (b) violating these Official Rules; (c) violating the conditions of service, conditions of use, and/or general rules or guidelines of any of Sponsor’s property or services; or (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.
  9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & PUBLICITY RELEASE: By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants: (a) agree, to the fullest extent of the law, to release and hold harmless Sponsor, and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Sweepstakes (including but not limited to the receipt, use, or misuse of any prize), and (b) grant to Sponsor the right to use and disclose their name and address (state or province and/or country or residence), statements, photograph, voice, and/or likeness for any advertising and promotional purposes relating to the Sweepstakes, in any media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice, compensation, consideration, review, or consent, except where prohibited by law.

    Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for the following: (a) telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur; (b) any incorrect or inaccurate information, any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes, or any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of purchases and/or invoices in connection with the Sweepstakes; (c) any injury or damage to participants related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes, including any use or receipt of a prize awarded herein.
  10. RIGHT TO TERMINATE OR MODIFY. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including because of, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, force majeure, or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to modify these Official Rules at any time for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Sweepstakes
  11. LAWS. This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the Alberta, Canada, without regard to the conflicts of law provisions.
  12. WINNERS LIST. To obtain the names of the winners, send a request, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, to Solid Gold Contest c/o Veer, Suite 400, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6, Canada. (Residents of Vermont need not supply postage.)
