The tale of the tape

William Lebeda

William Lebeda is a graphic designer, director, husband and father living in the Los Angeles area. He currently serves as Creative Director for Picture Mill, in Hollywood, primarily creating title sequences for feature films. Both his home and studio are filled with robots, computers, and books with and without pictures. He wishes for more hours in the day, though is afraid he’d just spend them poorly.

What the judges said

DN : Why are these giant molecules in a high school gymnasium?

BG : Due to budget cuts, gym class and organic chemistry will now be combined. Everyone grab a microscope and line up at the pommel horse.

DN : It has a 1992 look - is that retro already?

GH : What was that early 90s aesthetic? Slick and sterile? I suppose that could equate to being pure.

BG : Do atomic particles really look this heavy?

BB : When they’re heavily designed.

GH : The way the elements were used deserves some kudos.

DN : Hmmm... sneaky, but I guess it’s all there.

BG : Bit of a cheat to squash the extra stuff in that way. Still, I’d love to have a macro lens like this on my digital camera.
