What is a model release?
A model release is a form collected by the photographer and
signed either by the person shown in the image (the model), or by
that person's legal guardian or parent if the model is a minor. By
signing this form, the model gives written permission to both
photographer and buyer to use the model's likeness for editorial,
trade, advertising, packaging, or other purposes, such as brochures
and websites. A model release also gives the photographer and buyer
permission to alter the images in various ways, such as by cropping
or combining the image with other text or graphics.
