Switchboard: Alejandro Paul
Alejandro Paul has had a craving for typography since childhood,
when he began imitating the elegant handwriting of his father and
grandfather. This passion morphed into the Sudtipos Project, the
first Argentinean type foundry, which Paul co-founded. The Sudtipos
Project has helped put Argentina on the map with some of the best
graphic design in the world.
Paul has worked his magic with many prestigious companies, such
as Danone, SC Johnson, and Procter & Gamble. When he is not
creating innovative typefaces, he teaches typography to
postgraduate students at the University of Buenos Aires and speaks
at type conferences around the world.
Featured in countless publications, including Creative Review,
Visual, and Novum, Paul's influence in the typography world is
expressed through the vast range of his creations, from the
elaborate Poem Script to the hulky Machete text. Explore his
